Art throb Painting

Timothée Chalamet seems to be everywhere right now, we saw him in “Dune” and there’s also a new Wes Anderson movie coming out, “French Dispatch”. I was intrigued by this new kind of Hollywood man, and what he represents. Somewhere on the internet, I read that a special word had been invented for him: // art throb. A hipster artist boy who is too cute for words and has the personality and talent to boot. // Then, in a recent article in Time Magazine, I found a picture that seems to capture Timothée’s “art throb” spirit. It inspired me to go back to one of the masters, Henri Matisse. I’ve been fascinated by Matisse’s portrait sketches for a while, and how he captures a personality with just a few lines. I decided I would paint Timothée the art throb as a portrait only with lines. It makes me insecure and feeling naked, because usually my paintings have colour and lot more detail. But my husband reassured me, and after repeating it a few times, I felt like maybe I did do a good job. Actually I think, I kinda nailed it.
