ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This portrait of King Arthur from Monty Python and the Holy Grail is painted in my signature style I call Cubo-Weirdism. With this style, I like to take images of my heroes and favourite pop culture characts and paint them in a way that captures their essence in new ways. I also like to ask myself: "what would it look like if Picasso painted Arthur, King of the Britons in his style, but combined with realism". And the result is this tribute to one of the greatest characters from arguably the greatest comedy movies of all time.

Chris Simonite is an artist from Winnipeg, Canada where his brain froze at an early age due to the Siberia-like temperatures to which he was relentlessly exposed. Legend has it that this frozen brain compels him to spend most of his time making paintings (and occasionally animations/videos) based on pop culture, conspiracy theories and other things that lie at the murky edges. He has three degrees (BA, BFA, MFA, if you must know) and has shown his art in four countries on Earth. He is also a member of the legendary (in their own minds) Frost Shield Kerfuffle Collective. Chris Simonite has a musical/comedy/performance art alter ego, a faux Cowpunk Star called Stan Dickie, who was the subject of his MFA thesis.
