About The Artwork
As Day Follows night is quite a departure for me. I would love to tell a story of concepts in my mind that resulted in this artwork but the truth is somewhat different. As I have been working in the medium of coloured pencil, I have been experimenting with different materials: different brands of quality pencil and different surfaces to draw on. I waited almost two months for the delivery of a type of “paper” which is 100% cotton. When it finally arrived, I started to doodle on it to get used to it but my “doodle” developed and as I worked into it, “As Day Follows Night” emerged. I know that she will mean something to someone out there. Coloured Pencil on 11 x 14 inch 100% cotton.
