This is an original painting inspired by the aspen trees on the sides of Barrier Lake, AB, Canada. It is 20x20 inches framed with a black wood floater contemporary frame. My process involves extensive planning before starting to add paint to the canvas. In order to paint it, I need to have been at the place, take many photographs, and produce a few Plein air paintings. After I feel confident, and I recognize the feeling I want to transmit with my artwork, I design a plan that includes composition, light, value scale, pallet I will be using, etc. This plan is not always followed, I like the piece to let me know what it needs. I start by using very thin paint to draw the image and I keep increasing the thickness of the paint I use while increasing the complexity of the subject. I add finishing touches using impasto or expressive brushwork. In this piece, I wanted it to feel sunny and warm, homely, the colors are very warm and the treatment of the paint careful and thoughtful (especially in the water). The paint has been loosely applied in the distance and the complexity increases up to the details on the rocks. Materials: Oil on canvas, varnished, framed with a brown wood floater frame. Conveniently protected from the elements with the best quality picture varnish. Signed on the front. Certificate of authenticity is provided. Shipping: All my artwork is neatly and securely packed between glassine paper, foam board, bubble wrap, plastic and cardboard. Certificate of authenticity is provided.

Learning how to paint allowed Yanina Eberhard to reach an artistic former self suppressed for far too long. She has taken many classes and workshops with renowned artists in Canada. Nevertheless, she believes it is of utmost importance to experiment and practice as much as she can on her own. Her style is impressionistic with a tendency towards realism, and her creative and captivating works are one of a kind. To make sure of their uniqueness, she spends all the time needed before applying the paint, to make sure her message will be delivered. The emphasis sometimes is light, often is color, at times is drawing, and every so often is just a feeling. She makes use of experimentation and oil techniques such as "Alla Prima", glazing, dry brush, painting knife, impasto, and many others as a language to reach her goal.
