ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Part of my Astrolabe series, which span several mediums, approaches, and years. Here the intersecting circles allude to orbits and celestial patterns in a painterly diagramed way. It also can be read as a rhythmic geometric composition with proportional relationships and intersections. The method is back painted glass, where the paint is applied directly to glass, (painted in reverse), and uses a vintage, craftsman era window frame as a support. The age of the frame is maintained and enhanced by tinted glaze and sealed with an acrylic satin varnish (see detail shots). The frame has intentional worn edges, holes, and chipped paint for a distressed look. Hung with braided steel wire attached to back. Signed in the painting, bottom right with initials, and also full signature on the back panel, which is black foam core to protect the glass surface (see detail shot).

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I value the gestural mark, the traces of the human hand in artwork, imperfection and pieces that seek to involve the viewer, requiring them to complete the piece before them. My themes vary widely, wherever my soul, or my nose, takes me. My work is always starts with sketches and studies. I enjoy working with a subject and exploring it repeatedly in multiple pieces that vary in scale and media as a way of challenging my own perception and preconceived notions. I hope the viewer of these also has an experience of renewal and fresh ways of looking.
