About The Artwork
This artwork was inspired by Matisse's female nudes. The pose suggests a calm within and the woman sitting in a very relaxed and stable manner. I chose a grey palette with hints of flesh skin tones and silvery white background for back lighting and a feeling of glowing light. Random texture has been added to enhance the contrast of the calm pose with rough surfaces. And yet there is a softness of her shoulders and bottom creating a stillness of the environment she occupies.
