About The Artwork

Subject of the artwork: "Excess of Corners." I represented, among other corners, the angle formed by my arm and forearm, i.e., the elbow, symbolizing the figurative "pain in the elbow." If literal elbow pain serves as a warning from our psyche about a failure, figuratively, it is a state of mind that indicates relaxation or indifference. The phrase "I don't care" is figuratively used to highlight indifference towards a particular subject. The corner of the table is associated with the idea of marriage. Thus, a young woman will never find her chosen one if she does not give up the habit of sitting at the corner of the table. There are two meanings to this custom. The first suggests that the woman will never marry. The second says that the young woman will have bad luck in love for 7 years if she continues to sit in the corner of the table. Additionally, there is a superstition that the girl will take the big step but will not be happy, going through difficult times with her husband and even facing divorce. It is also considered a bad sign for a couple to sit in the corner, foretelling family quarrels. The corner of bread, spilled salt, and pepper on the table are among the oldest meal-related superstitions. Salt and pepper spilled on the table will attract quarrels if not collected and thrown over the shoulder to ward off evil. The corner of bread must always be eaten to be loved by the mother-in-law. Other superstitions in the painting include: - The painting is like a poster stuck in the corner of a wall; - A fang (its sharp corner) in the top left corner of the painting; - The knife leaning on the corner of the shelf. The artwork can be seen as advice against putting too much faith in certain rumors, urging one to think twice about the contemplated action. It might be viewed somewhat ironically, but not with ignorance.

A primary reason why I chose the world of art was the opportunity to visualize the world we live in through a different lens and explore various perspectives. It's about admiring the world despite the challenges an artist faces at the beginning of their journey. The goal is to captivate a diverse audience with ideas that can resonate with people from all walks of life, opening their eyes to new approaches and fostering a broader appreciation for art. I chose the path of art, setting aside sports, to illustrate my own world, addressing certain ironic situations that surround us at every step, such as superstitions. For these, I have created a collection of paintings inspired by the works of the famous surrealist artist Rene Magritte.
