At home in thought Painting

As an artist and art lecturer I am passionate about art and the emotional effect art has on our human race. I am very interested in people and the way each individual functions in their particular culture. The sphere of psychology and human behaviour has always intrigued me. Creativity and the integration thereof in society, especially the Fine Arts from the beginning of mankind until today, particularly interests me as well as the visual language of our global society. I specialise in painting. I work with mixed media; acrylic paint, charcoal, oil pastels and pencils. The act of 'mark making' on a canvas is extremely important. I love working with colour. My works are mostly abstract with some recognisable elements like chairs, shoes and lamps etc.. I usually start by using children's drawings as an inspiration. The honesty of children's art is a big component in my art.
