This work of art, a fascinating contemporary painting, captures an urban scene imbued with nonchalance and elegance. The work is dominated by a standing man, dressed in a white shirt that is largely unbuttoned, accentuating a relaxed but stylish attitude. With his black sunglasses and a cup of coffee in his hand, he exudes an aura of sophisticated casualness. The background of the painting sports warm hues of orange and yellow, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. The texture of the walls in the background, marked by paint drips, adds a dimension of modernity and abstraction to the whole. The white splashes that dot the canvas seem to break the monotonous continuity of warm colors, bringing a certain visual freshness. Next to the man, we see a bistro chair and a table, evoking the charm of Parisian cafés. The reflection of light on the chair and table intensifies the feeling of warmth and conviviality of the scene. The partially visible inscription "SAINT LOUIS" at the top of the work suggests an iconic location, contributing to the urban identity of the painting. The play of contrasts between the main character and the background animated by variations of colors and textures makes this painting irresistibly captivating. The artist was naturally able to mix realism and abstraction, giving the work an undeniable depth and originality. The individual's relaxed attitude, in perfect harmony with the artistic environment around them, captures the very essence of contemporary urban life with remarkable stylistic boldness.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
