AUM and 8 lotuses Om (Skt. ॐ) or Aum - in the Hindu and Vedic tradition - a sacred sound, the original mantra, the "word of power". Often interpreted as a symbol of the divine trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Used in yoga practices and meditation techniques. In accordance with the Vedic heritage, it is believed that the sound om was the first manifestation of the yet unrevealed Brahman, which gave rise to the perceived universe, which arose from the vibration caused by this sound. OM or AUM, perhaps the most famous of the sacred Hindu symbols, one of the meanings of OM is the personification of the sound that created all things. Visually, the sacred sound is displayed in Devanagari, the Sanskrit alphabet, as a grapheme (more precisely, a ligature) ॐ, consisting of the letters "A", "u", and anusvara, read as M. 8 lotuses: The number 8 is the well-known sign of infinity. Lotus, growing in a muddy water bog, has become a symbol of purity and renunciation. It is identified with beneficial actions performed without the influence of the cycles of birth and death of the human soul. According to the Gopalatapani Upanishad, the lotus represents the manifested universe, a flower that blooms in all its glory in the formless and endless waters of conditioning.
