The painting titled "Away from People" belongs to the Solomon's Paradox series, developed as part of the second phase of the project The Escape. A recurring motif in The Escape is the central white circle, symbolizing the confined perspective of the character, a bubble they cannot escape. Within the circle, a blurred human silhouette suggests movement within an empty white space. The use of cool blue tones emphasizes the theme of detachment—a metaphor for the urge to break free from one's environment or inherited circumstances. This marks the first step in a quest for meaning among others. The surrounding blue patches symbolize the turbulence of thoughts, fears, emotions, and social constraints. This phase of The Escape emerged from conversations with my Instagram followers, who responded to the question: "What am I fleeing from? What fear pushes me to run?". Their answers inspired a profound psychoanalytical reflection on modern existential fears, sparking an honest inner dialogue with personal anxieties. Heidegger’s philosophy of fear, seen as a fundamental emotion that leads to self-discovery, echoes through this exploration of escape and separation. The artwork resonates with individuals intrigued by the creation of a society that promotes personal development rather than escapism, and the varying levels of interaction within it. Painting minimalist encourages personal growth, self-reflection, and conscious living.

Hello, I'm Olena, a passionate self-taught artist from Ukraine/ While my academic background is in pharmacy, my heart has always belonged to art. Since childhood, I've loved creating things with my hands, and this passion has only grown stronger over the years. My artistic journey took a profound turn at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. This challenging time inspired me to dive deeper into my work, using art to explore the complexities of human nature and evoke moments of life awareness. My paintings delve into themes of the subconscious, the journey of the soul, free will, and the collective consciousness, often drawing from my own transformative experiences. I'm fascinated by psychology, Vedic astrology, religion, and philosophy, which significantly influence my art. I continuously refine my technique to convey these ideas skillfully. I primarily work with watercolors, acrylics, and collage, with a particular love for watercolors. The unpredictable nature of watercolor has become a delightful part of my creative process, akin to a dance, where each stroke brings energy and melody to my paintings. Over the past two years, I've participated in over 20 exhibitions, including international events like the plein air in Gdansk, Poland, and received recognition as a winner of the AMERICAN ART AWARDS 2022. I was also the curator and organizer of Ukraine’s first all-Ukrainian watercolor exhibition, focusing on personal boundaries and promoting watercolor art in my country. My works are part of the Meta Museum of War collection in Kyiv and various private collections across Canada, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, Netherlands and the USA. I invite you to explore my art and discover the stories behind each piece. Thank you for visiting my store. Warm regards, Olena Koliesnik
