ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Azov Sea" can be seen as a tribute to my hometown Mariupol and the painter Archip Ivanovich Kuinji, who was born there, because he painted the most (from my point of view) impressive water motifs. It filled me with deep sadness when his museum was destroyed during the war. But I am also thinking of my friends and family who still lived there and who suffered from the blockade and lost everything. But not only things, but also relationships are broken. While the left ship moves to the left towards the storm and becomes smaller and smaller, the almost identical-looking larger ship moves towards the sun to the right. This is what it looks like even with families that have been torn apart and (outwardly similar) are now moving spiritually in different directions. Many families are Ukrainian and Russian and intertwined. The war is tearing them apart. The propaganda is strong and even family ties sometimes cannot stand it.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Thematically, I explore modern spiritualism. Time of crisis is also time for hope, for the rebirth of the proverbial phoenix from the ashes. “Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all” Emily Dickinson In its effect, my distinctly expressionist contemporary art style approaches maximalism, with the ambiguity and profundity of the finished artworks being most important to me. I achieve this through various techniques, whereby I am using the dripping technique, the impasto technique and the sgraffito technique. I experiment a lot and use unusual materials and tools, such as the 3D printer and metal chips from a lathe.
