"I wouldn't trade a minute of it." - Uncle Benny Happy Valley; 1970 something. I lived in "The Clinic" on North Gill for two years after spending my Freshman year in the dorms and my Sophomore year in a generic apartment complex. "The Clinic" had no medical or mental health implications, it was really just the name we gave our five bedroom rental house. We were, however, right across the street from a working laboratory of some type and next to a huge cinder block building with no windows and no sign indicating what was going on in there. Past the windowless building was the golf course. At the bottom of our block was the original location and the birthplace of Accuweather, but the rest of North Gill was student housing like us. Across the broken glass and overgrown parking lot that was our backyard and past the abandoned Fiat was a conveniently located drive-thru beer distributor. It was so close we walked over to get cases and kegs with a shopping cart that somehow appeared one day on our back porch. We didn't have parties every single week, but we didn't miss too many. I knew we had gotten out of hand when someone at a tailgate party that I didn't know invited me to a party tonight at The Clinic. He even gave me directions to my own house... "Work hard. Play hard. Be nice to people." Classic Happy Valley ethos! What a great place to be 20 or 21 years old. The cast at The Clinic was a revolving door of colorful characters that included Moose, Ziggy, Juice, Juan, QB, Frenchie, JR, Tony G, and Sarge. Plus assorted friends old and new that slept over from time to time. Eventually I graduated and moved away to join the real world, but I can see why some people choose the six or seven year plan. I wouldn't trade a minute of it.

After a 30 year career in advertising and sales leadership I escaped the corporate media world a few years ago and can now focus on creating my own work. In other words, I'm an outsider artist that has decades of ideas pouring out. My intent is primarily to create pieces of art that are highly visual and interesting to enjoy and study... but may often express ideas, ask questions, unearth feelings, debate opinions, or sometimes be provocative. Like many paintings though, they're often just a combination of lines, shapes, colors, textures, and space. That said; I hope my work presents a UNIQUE combination of art elements to you and that you like what you see. Better yet, I hope you believe some of my pieces should be included in your collection. I've traveled the world but have always lived in the Philadelphia area. While I have no formal training as an artist, I've been a photographer and I've been around the art community my whole life. My wife Suzanne works as a Docent for the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, and together we've raised three wonderful sons that are all now making their own way in the world. We have a home and our studio in Chester County PA with our Bernese Mountain Dog; Mr Charlie.
