BEYOND THE CURTAIN Painting

Have always loved art and being creative, although I never followed this path as a career, that was being a PA to a wonderful Solicitor and working for a Pharmaceutical Company. Born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, now living in the beautiful Village of Kimpton, Hertfordshire. The things I love are running, spent all my years growing up as a competitive cross country runner. Still love to run to this day and also yoga which is a great way to keep calm and focused. The garden now takes up a lot of my time, I am passionate about it and have created a mediterranean style kitchen garden. Also love to cook, so produce from the kitchen garden is fantastic. I work from my Loft Studio which is a great space, I can shut myself off and create for hours, sometimes forgeting what the time is. Art to me is a great way to express oneself and capture images either from emotions or memories. My style is pretty rustic and simplistic which I feel captures me as I'm not a very materialistic sort of a person, think that's why I'm drawn to love Greece so much and their simple life. I love to use texture and sometimes a piece of something that was collected from a moment. Putting bold colours together is something I am known for now and adding the odd word or two. My art doesn't necessarily have a starting point, it's about building up the base first and then seeing what comes from within. Although subconsciously I have an idea brewing.
