BROOK AT DUSK Painting

Emiola Taofeek was born in Lagos, South West Nigeria in 1975, grew up there and still lives there. He took up the brush for the first time ever in May 2017 to eventually overcome the fear (or awe) that used to descend on him whenever he sees a gorgeous and beautiful painting at one of his clients' gallery. His works are reflections of his deep rooted consciousness of lost self in nature. He said “being alone in an expanse space of nature; to feel; to drink and gets intoxicated by the scenery without consciousness of others disturbing the emotional flow is what makes me paint”. He loves Mother Nature and never fails wanting to capture her different beautiful presentations encapsulated in different sceneries. He has been secretly nursing a strong desire to become an art collector and hopefully open an art gallery someday. The sheer strength of this desire and deep respect for artworks made him to visit an art supply store in Ojuelegba, Lagos to purchase a set of oil paints.Armed with some lessons from Youtube videos, he eventually started his journey into creating his works. His discovery of the use of acrylics fast tracked his painting journey. seriousness making him to have produced twenty one art works some of which he gave out to admiring friends and some up for sale.
