ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In 2022-2023, I created a series of four paintings about a train journey from "Penn Station New York to Washington" to present at the TOAF Art Fair (The Other Art Fair; organized by Saatchiart) in London in March 2023. I painted this series like a video sequence with elements that follow each other in the four paintings, creating a link (the colors, the clouds, the tags reproduced in the three works). These paintings represent small suburban towns, with their abandoned factories and similar-looking wooden houses. We are far from the grandeur and wealth of Manhattan, far from the streets paved with gold in America. "Baltimore’s on track," is more static than those of the quadriptych. It is an allegory of solitude. Baltimore is on track. How ironic, this abandoned, tagged building by the tracks with its half-erased advertisement. It is an allegory of hope. Yes, you are on the right track, despite appearances and the stones scattered in your path. and you, are you on track? Acrylic painting on linen canvas; ready to hang on a wall; the sides are painted red, The painting is protected by a bright varnish to enhance the colors.

Figurative Parisian painter capturing the soul of Urban Scenes. Member of society of SALON D'AUTOMNE Paris Member of the Taylor Foundation, Paris Feb. 2023 PARIS (salon Les Artistes Français) March 2023 : LONDON :THE OTHER ART FAIR August 2023: TOKYO ART CENTER, JAPAN Born in the outskirts of Paris. I live and work in Paris suburbs. Living in a big city for half my life has influenced my work. I have a fascination for cities: noisy, overwhelming and lively, yet hiding people loneliness. I paint mostly urban landscapes: the interiors (shops, cafe, theatre house) full of details and colourful with very few details for the people: they are just part of the scenery. I’ve worked for the theatre for ten years and that experience gave me a love of colours, of framing my subject a certain way. I’m not looking for the exact repliqua of the reality but for an emotion I want to convey in my paintings through colors. My work is made of lots of layers of acrylic on a canvas, quick rough brush strokes and vivid colours. I use acrylic because it’s a medium that corresponds to my character: I’m impatient and this material suits me for it allows my painting a speed, a raw aspect, sometimes violent; I work in a kind of urgency.
