About The Artwork

Title: Baraja Trébol II Original abstract painting on a wooden background. Mixing technique, Acrylic, watercolor, ink. I made this work for the exhibition project "Identidades y Memorias" at the Instituto de Estudios Hispánicos de Canarias in Tenerife. Size: 8,26 x 6 inch. ( 21 x 15 cm). Black wooden stand measures 14,37 x 12,20 inch (36.5 cm. long X 31 cm. wide) Reflection by Carlos Colina ..... Globalization is not one-dimensional, but multi-layered and multi-dimensional. There are tensions between a planetary identity and tribal and nationalistic manifestations. Identities and identifications are as complex and beautiful as the works of Matilde Cánepa González. Memories are fragmented and reassembled from memory scraps of dawn and dusk. The oblivion of the official history of the powerful is sometimes countered by the reenactment of the collective and archetypal unconscious (Jung). Memories are as kaleidoscopic as the shapes and colors of Matilda's works. Carlos Colina (sociologist).

I live by the art אני גר אמנות Yo vivo el arte "I want confidants, not clients. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and now live in Berlin, Germany. I have been developing my art since 1990. As an interdisciplinary artist I work with different materials and techniques. Over the years I have created various sculptures, paintings and art books. Sculptures on different supports and materials in the form of reliefs, textures, calligraphies, with a symbolic character, born from a syncretic language. My paintings are mostly on paper, because this material gives me a certain charm and foundation, although I also use canvas and other materials. I prefer mixed media with acrylic, ink, watercolour and others. I have used assemblage as an approach to my art, it is a two or three dimensional construction made from scraps of wood and pieces of stoneware, glued together and painted. I love assemblage, collage and combining different materials to create a new piece with a unique aesthetic. For a long time I lived in Tenerife, the Canary Island in Spain. Today my studio is in Berlin. This allows me to be inspired to express my human aesthetics, philosophy and inner turmoil in my work. In a constant relationship with my social environment, where I actively search for a harmony between nature and man, seeking a constant balance on the continuous movement. On this Saatchi Art page I show some of my artworks to spread my artistic expression. I present another way of getting to know my artwork, through which I hope to reach out to all of you and help me continue to grow as an artist.
