The selected artwork is a viscosity investigation of fluid acrylics and other special liquid ingredients. After a lot of trial and error, the pigment reactions began to create random manifestations similar to objects found in an organic world. The results also produced similarities to algorithmic art comparable to fractals. Repurposed vinyl records were used to create a marriage of antiquated aural and visual media used in a new context. The result was then given a shiny epoxy resin finish to be presented like a platinum record a musician would receive. It's an amazing blend of art, science, and music! Unique one-of-a-kind acrylic abstract art fluid painting done on a 12" vinyl record finished with resin done by Redideo, framed and ready to hang! About the process: A high-grade gesso was applied to the 12" vinyl record after the original label was removed. The records are re-purposed and random. A special formula of acrylic paint is then manually hand applied to the surface of the record to create the abstract art know as "fluid painting." Once the paint has dried, it's finished with a high-grade, long-lasting epoxy resin to give it a shiny appearance. The high-gloss epoxy resin clear coat makes pieces POP while protecting them. Because the art is handmade, there are very small dust particles in the epoxy resin finish. They're not noticeable unless you look very close at certain angles. On the back of the record, there is a hand signed "Redideo" autograph. There is also another hand signed title, signature, and date on the back of the frame. The finished abstract art 12" vinyl record is then framed in a 14.375" X 14.375" x .75" wood frame with a beveled mat. *There is no glass covering the record and mat. The glass on top of the record with the resin made it too reflective and difficult to see the art. I do custom color palette orders as well! Contact me if interested.
