I wanted to capture the fragile beauty of the decorative poppy a few seconds before the summer rain. Strong gusts of wind can tear off all the petals and the rain can give life-giving moisture so that new buds can was no less comfortable to paint on beautiful textured paper than on canvas.

Germany
I was born in 1964 in the USSR. As long as I can remember, I drew every day as a child. Every month I ran out of watercolor paints, and my parents bought me new ones. I graduated from the Poltava Children's Art School, but then I studied economics, and in independent Ukraine I received another higher education - law. Despite my busy schedule, I have been painting all my life. The Covid-19 epidemic plunged me into continuous drawing lessons and learning techniques taught by famous art trainers online. I'm actually a self-taught artist. Because of the war in Ukraine, I was forced to move to Germany and was able to devote a lot of time to painting. Working primarily in acrylics, I find inspiration in everyday moments, sometimes fleeting and sometimes affirming the permanence but also fragility of recognizable or little-known natural and urban landscapes, the beauty of pensive female faces and the triumphant aesthetics of wildlife. My imagination places roosters, ripe pumpkins, flowers and trees on my canvases. The emotional response of the audience gives rise to new inspiration, and bright colors emphasize the magical beauty and charm of living nature. As a patriot of my Motherland, I create paintings on socio-political topics to draw people's attention to this unjust, unprovoked and aggressive war. The world is very fragile and must be preserved at all costs. The world around us is magnetically beautiful, and its various vibrations are reflected in my paintings. All my life I have studied the work of outstanding artists of the late 19th and 20th centuries. I was fascinated and attracted by the works of Henri Matisse, Henri Rousseau, Amadeo Modigliani, Marc Chagall, Grandma Moses and the great contemporaries of the German Gerhard Richter and the Ukrainian Ivan Marchuk. I am pleased that my works are in private collections in Ukraine, Estonia, Germany, France and Poland. And even the work created in 1988 has been preserved and, to my surprise, decorates my friends’ house, just like 36 years ago. And this is also a source of inspiration.
