About The Artwork

This painting is entitled "Behind the mask ..." Format: 60/60 cm 3D Canvas: Canvas with large painted edges that are not framed. Mixed techniques: mortar, mask, feathers and stiffened fabric. Canvas with different volumes: base made with a mortar, then relief at the level of the mask and the fabric. Made with aerosol paints. The History of the painting: The light emerges at the top left to illuminate and warm this canvas that at first glance may seem obscure but is also revived by the silver in the center of the painting. The mask is defined as a deceptive outside, an appearance. It serves to conceal his identity. Frequently the mask is a disguise (which is found through the stiffened fabric and the impression of lace above) used to scare an enemy. But the light takes over and chases bad geniuses. The mask is also becoming another, another more free and lighter (with the image of feathers), relieved of the usual worries. We all wear a mask every day, to us to see if we choose to reveal or not ...

One day everything changed ... Once upon a time, there was the story of a young woman who led a most mundane life. Coming from a family of amateur artists, she has long been immersed in the artistic field. As a Spanish teacher, she has studied Spanish art extensively and regularly attended exhibitions. She particularly liked all the innovative artists, the ones that came out of the ordinary and went beyond the borders ... Until the day when ... she had a car accident and lived loss of one of her relatives, which symbolized for her, all the paradise of his childhood ... as for the accident, he was one of the triggers of a chronic disease that began at that time. At the death of her Great Aunt, she first laid down her intense sorrow and sorrow on a paper, just lining up words. But that was not enough, she was bubbling from the inside and could not express herself. She planned on going to buy paintbrushes and paints, which she had never made before, to spit up what ignited her from the inside. Surprisingly, his hand began to realize movements, shapes and colors on the immaculate white paper and was the beginning of a great passion ... Over time, she felt the urge to create more materials, relief and gradually added to her painting sand, earth, various papers, woods, moss ... all she could find nearby, s' thus initiating naturally to Mixed Techniques. His studio was transformed into a veritable laboratory of experiments and extravagant combinations to access the singularity and originality of each work. Gradually prisoner of a body that could no longer move forward and function because of her illness, her desire to paint quickly became a vital necessity. This is one of the reasons why his painting is always lively and in motion to celebrate the moment. She wanted to go ahead at any cost and thanks to new technologies, she was able to self-train in painting without having to move. She immediately wanted to express herself through the abstract.
