VIEW IN MY ROOM
Continuing a series of work exploring the concept of balance in our lives through the metaphors gained from circus art and how the same metaphors can be transferred to our daily lives. We need to focus but be able to adjust and yield to changes, we need to be centred and calm. We need to keep our eye on our goal and not get distracted.

Over time I have noticed that regardless of imagery, my work naturally holds feelings of melancholy, pathos, or a dreamy state. There is a sense of something ending or softening, a dying light, the end of a summers day or something slipping out of reach. I have an interest in finding imagery through a random, sometimes destructive process. I search for hints and suggestions which emerge through this often playful technique. Winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (2018).
