Abstract works are for the viewer to interpret, and everyone will see different things in them, although the title may hint at my own particular feelings when creating this piece. I am inspired by nature – sometimes close-up textures and organic shapes, sometimes light and weather, and sometimes nature in the widest sense of the cosmos. I start abstract works with no particular image in mind, concentrating at first on establishing a good balance of colour, tone and texture. As the work progresses a theme, image or idea will appear, and I then develop the work accordingly. Each work is built up from many layers of paint - scratched, poured, and glazed across the surface - often over a very long period of time. Fibres, plastic and acrylic texture pastes/acrylic plaster have been incorporated into this work. All of these have been overlayed with acrylic medium to protect them. *This work ships in a tube and can be restretched or framed at your local framing shop* Only deep-edge canvas and artist’s quality lightfast colours have been used to create the work.
