ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original oil, semi-abstract forest painting. I was inspired by Fauvism direction , specifically by artworks of Andre Derain. Play of sunlight on the trees and brunches in the forest. It creates almost an abstract impression. Hot reds and cool blue create a lively contrast in the artwork. I hope to provoke a happy joyful mood of coming spring. Outline of birch brunches resemble an effect of stained glass. Painting is wired for hanging with professional hardware. Artwork does not require framing, it is done on the gallery stretched canvas with sides painted in black.
