Bird, Stone, Branch, Insect: 2016 Summer Painting

Ink and wash painting, in Chinese “shuimo”, also loosely termed watercolour or brush painting, and also known as "literati painting", as it was one of the "Four Arts" of the Chinese Scholar-official class. In theory this was an art practiced by gentlemen, a distinction that begins to be made in writings on art from the Song dynasty, though in fact the careers of leading exponents could benefit considerably. This style is also referred to as "xieyi" or freehand style. All the paintings are purely hand-painted (NOT printed) and manually scroll-framed by Ms. Su, a painter who is skilled in traditional Chinese paintings of horse, bird and flower for over 35 years. All the paintings are NOT framed yet, that's why the current paper seems to be a little bit wrinkled. Don't worry, we shall proceed to make frame if your need, and the paper will be smoothed during framing. Customization is available.
