Maurizio Bongiovanni (Tettnang, Germania, 24.02.1979) is a visual artist. Lives and works between Milan and Shanghai. After a course of study related to the world of the image at the Academy for Digital Arts and Sciences of Siena, Riccardo Bauer of Milan and the University of the Image of Fabrizio Ferri, begin to participate in several artistic residencies wins three fellowships at Vermont Studio Center in America, La Napoule Art Foundation Clews Center for the Arts in France and the Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain getting a stipend by Italian prize GAI - Association for the young Italian Artists Circuit 2012. Lately Bongiovanni has been invited to participate in the workshop by Doug Ashford, Mario Airò e Liliana Moro at the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'Arte in Turin, and with Felix Gmalin at the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Austria. His expressive research through the use of digital drawing, video and painting. In the 2013 with the Fondazione Fuori in Turin, decided to found an artist run space, called “FUORI! Artisti”, to support and spread the legacy of the Fondazione Sandro Penna and to continue to give importance to LGBT issues and to include strong relationships with other intellectual fields. He took part in various events and exhibitions including: Galleria Bianca (2013) Palermo; SIM Gallery (2011) Reykjavik; ANNI 10 (2010) Art Studio Cannaviello, Milan. His solo exhibitions include: As we may think (2012) Gallery UNO+UNO, Milan; Mars, it makes me tense (2012) Milan, Where Where Art Space (2011) Beijing, Abstraction-Action (2009) Art Studio Cannaviello , Milan. Maurizio Bongiovanni's paintings were selected by the Director of Moca London Michael Petry in his book "Nature Morte: Contemporary Still Life Artists Reinvigorate the tradition".
