Her tanned skin and large, full lips resemble the burning dunes of the desert, like an oasis full of life in the middle of the imposing dunes of the desert. This work is part of the collection “Black Pearl”, which is a small tribute to African women, who, like their skin tone, have been submerged in the dark nights of history. This painting is produced using soft pastels on paper. Soft pastel works have a rich, tactile quality that draws collectors in. The pastel stick is tapped so the powder falls onto the paper and then blended with the fingers.
