Painting from a remarkable highly creative perspective, Synaesthete Artist Tanja Ackerman captures and shares the powerful experience of SEEing SOUND. Art, music and creativity are the fabric of Tanja’s being. She has always been profoundly creative. Expressing herself through painting, drawing, music, photography, composition and poetry. Tanja is extremely sensitive and embraces this heighted sensitivity combined with creative thought and energy to translate what she hears, sees and feels so deeply into extraordinary unique works of art. The process of observing music and natural sounds is described by Tanja as literally seeing moving colours, patterns, textures, three-dimensional activity across her visual field. She has been seeing sound for as long as she can remember. This ability is known as Synaesthesia. It is a a gift in which stimulation of one sense (auditory) leads to a sensory experience in a different sense (visual). As a professional Artist Tanja has numerous works held in Private Collection, a finalist in Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA), numerous solo exhibitions including Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery and group exhibitions.
