About The Artwork
Two most beloved "Icons" of Costa Rica! The red eyed tree frog uses his orange eyes to confuse predators when in danger. If the nocturnal frog is approached while asleep during the day, its suddenly open eyes will momentarily paralise the predator, providing the frog with a few seconds to escape. (Oh and do not ask why its called a bleeding heart!) Its companion, a Male Emerald Glass Frogs are highly territorial and have been observed engaging in wrestling matches which may last for over an hour!
