I love working with Encaustic wax, melting, scraping, dripping, blending with oil paints and pastels. I love to paint with blues they are so calming to the soul. Encaustic Wax with oil paint and pastels allows me to melt, scrape, drip and create with an abandon as the painting seems to come alive. I am inspired in my life and studio in the vineyard and close to the ocean. I paint from my life and hope you enjoy and feel the serene peace that I do when viewing my paintings. Encaustic (bees wax & Damar resin), oil and pastels on a cradled wood panel. Signed, dated and titled on the back. On a cradled wooden panel with 2.5' sides that are finished with a dark gray stain. Hanging wire included, ready to hang!

I am an artist grew up as an army brat we lived all over the US and overseas. I have raised my children in the Santa Monica Mountains and was living on a vineyard/ranch. We recently moved to Texas where I am finally painting again after our home and ranch burned in one of the California wildfires. We have 9 kids, many animals and a studio where I can get away from it all and just paint. We have a wine tasting room in West Hills, California as well where I sometimes hang my art. I will continue with my art here in Texas and still get back to California to also create. I took many art classes but never finished my degree taking care of my children was what was most important to me at the time. I originally studied in photography in high school and college which I have continued with that always. Recently I have gone back to real film and a vintage Leica camera. Eventually I started in oils but after a few years moved into encaustic wax medium which I have been doing for many years. I love the medium it has a translucent quality to it. Recently I picked up acrylics as it has a quality of layering that I love to do. I have a balance of self taught and formal instruction and love what I do. I participated in the Incognito show in Santa Monica for 5 years and many other gallery showings.
