Filipa Valentim is a Portuguese artist currently based in London, with studios in London, Lisbon, and Barcelona. She has been drawing and painting since she was a young child, and continues to do it with the same passion and spontaneity. Filipa was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, where she attended António Arroio Art School, graduating top-of-class in 2011. Since then, she has participated in various exhibitions including “Pages“ in Lisbon, and other group shows in the US and UK. Her most obvious artistic influences are Anglo-European: from the inescapable Picasso and Matisse, to the contemporary works of English artists including Hockney and Helen Beard. Filipa takes equal inspiration from art references as she does from daily life - often her subjects are what’s in front of her in the moment, including many references from social media.
