The project "Blue in the City" was created specifically for the exhibition in the New Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, Russia), designed to connect the work of contemporary artists with the work of geometric abstract artists of the last century. Ground coffee is used as material, as a prototype - objects of Moscow from a bird's eye view, presented in the form of abstract geometric compositions. In 2020, the blue color was chosen as the color of the year according to the Pantone Institute. The emotional message of blue is the need for stability and confidence. This topic develops with emphasis on the familiar that usually surrounds us in the city. What gives us a sense of immutability with the variability of the world around us is the objects of urban infrastructure: parks, reservoirs, transport highways. Residents of a bustling and fluid metropolis have a great need for stability, and with our inner gaze we all cling to these blue anchors of calm.

I am researching a woman’s self-awareness, formed through the prism of stereotypes and prejudices that were developed in society. I compare behavior deviation from expected patterns to a glitch effect. Glitch art criticizes the digital culture promoting an ideal transmission of the image. Social glitch is self-expression through violation of programmed standing orders. In my context, the glitch looks like an inconsistency in the information expected. I express the glitch effect through the Central Asian ikat ornament. An ornament is a visual projection of a society. And for me personally it is endowed with special meanings because I grew up in Tashkent, and oriental ornament is part of my aesthetics.
