About The Artwork

It is painted on stretched canvas and is created with a palette knife and brush using oils. It is coated with an archival varnish for protection. It will arrive wired, ready to display in your space. The sides are unpainted. This is number 55 in my BOATS Series, which is a popular, long-running series from when I began selling my art. This is the first one created in the newest studio on Siesta Key in FL. I consider this to be my 2019 residency, sure to inspire my DUNES and BOATS. This a painted on hand-built Belgian linen canvas.  This is exceptional quality. Any art you purchase is an investment designed to enhance your surroundings and last for many years to come. I believe I offer a valuable product and the price reflects the quality of my work in both building the substrate and creating in my unique style. Therefore, most of my pieces, including all of my commissioned pieces, are painted on natural Belgian linen. It is hand-stretched over high quality, heavy-duty hardwood stretcher bars, which will not warp. The final work is always coated with an archival varnish for protection. I believe that a high-quality surface which is hand-stretched by the artist is a bonus for the collector. I use linen, especially for my large paintings because of its strength and durability. It holds up to the heavy paint of my palette knife work. While it is more expensive, the linen surface has a more natural finish than cotton. It is also a surface that will last a longer length of time because of its own natural oils that keep it flexible. The threads that make up linen, known as the warp and weft threads, weigh the same, which means they are less prone to expansion or contraction due to moisture. Additionally, you may agree that the color of the natural woven edge of Belgian linen is attractive and it does not necessarily need a frame This one is of course, would fill a large space. It is warm and pretty- but also will have impact in your space. I hope you enjoy this one!  It will ship rolled, with directions on restretching.
