Boats on Welsh Beach Painting

I am a working artist and art tutor. I work and teach from my home based studio in a small village called Kinver, South Staffordshire in the United Kingdom. My interests and the subjects I enjoy painting stem from growing up by the sea and having wonderful memories. The sea is ever changing its moods: tranquil to stormy, sunshine to clouds, dark ominous to light and cheerful, green and turquoise to deep indigo. I prefer to work with oils, and I use both canvas and panels for my work, and I tripple coat with high quality Liquitex Gesso because I found with ready-made canvases the quality and the thickness of the Gesso is poor which allows the oil paint to sink into the canvas. I only use artists quality oil paints from leading manufacturers. I make my own oil medium from Damar, High quality Linseed oil, and Odourless thinners in three forms: Lean, Medium, and Fat. My work is in private collections including the Royal National Lifeboat Institute Aberdovey Lifeboat Station, the USA, and France.
