Zurita nació en Chile (1958) donde su padre pintaba escenas de cordilleras y campos. Viajó a Montevideo buscando rastros de la Escuela del Sur, ingresando al taller del maestro Anhelo Hernández, discípulo de Joaquín Torres-García. De allí que en la obra de Zurita suelen verse influencias orientales. Sin embargo, su paleta -que valora los ocres y los grises- mantiene cierta impronta transandina. Su pintura ha sido expuesta en Santiago de Chile, Osorno, Puerto Montt y Valparaíso. En Uruguay participa del Taller de Clever Lara, y expone durante las muestras del colectivo. La obra de Zurita también se encuentra en colecciones particulares de la región y Europa.
