ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I wanted to paint these floral still lives but in a contemporary manner. Dark backgrounds, drama, light and contrast and combining my own recognisable lines with big brush strokes and plenty of paint. And now I paint according to the seasons. Hortencia bouquets picked from my own garden; we have many. They are especially beautiful at the end of the summer. The leaves a little dry, the fading colour of the petals. Wonderful to paint.
