About The Artwork

Inspired by the Paul Simon song of the same name. I call some of my work “urban primitive” because, although I am heavily influenced by tribal and indigenous iconography and art (like Haring & Basquiat), I am definitely a City Boy, an Urbanite. If that makes me an appropriator, then I join a long list of famous artists. Many pieces are are meant to hang loose like a tapestry with pushpins and grommets or bull-clamps.
