One morning I went to Prague for a job and stopped for a breakfast at a petrol station. As I had a breakfast, for a few seconds I stopped thinking and looked at the passing cars behind the window. Some went there, others back and all very fast. Why do we live in such a hurry? But after a while I became a part of this rush again. Since then, I've been having breakfast at the gas station many times, but only this one has kept me in mind. Interestingly, some unimportant moments remain in memory all the time. It was already 14 years ago.

Painting this was my goal to recall the brief moment of reflection in everyday hustle and bustle.

A self-taught painter (my so far profession is civil engineering), fond of drawing from childhood. After failure to admit to the Academy of Fine Arts, I chose a University of Economy in Prague and two years later the Czech Technical University in Prague. For the next 15 years, I have been trying to earn enough money as a construction engineer to become a free painter. During this period I did not even paint painting at all. After reaching the age of 40, I found out that this will not work. So I try to limit my civil work and start painting again. I like searching for beauty in ordinary things. Among my favorite painters include Rembrandt, Monet and David Hockney.
