This work is part of the series "Breaking trhough small gaps" held during the year of 2017 and consists of a return to the theme of the landscape in which the scenario represented is rescued in its structural aspects leaving aside the detail of the photographic memory. The graphic elements represent lines of force and transformation processes creating a symbolic geography where the color plays a central role. The representation of nature becomes a field free of constraints allowing the work to embody a dynamic and evolutionary idea where the first impression allows to link the image to the tonalities and forms of the essential matrix of the landscape. "My work is deeply linked with the world around me. Everything I do is inspired in lived experience, places I see, booksI read, people I met, all that are buildings blooks of the constructions I made, I see them as special models of tension, a "momento" that yelds the power of tranformation." Julio Alves has produced a diverse body of work that includes painting, drawing, installation and sculpture. With his studio based in Estoril, in the portuguese atlantic coast, he has developed his activity for nearly three decades and has carried out several solo and group exhibitions. With an academic background in architecture, subsequently studied painting at the Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon and in recent years has been devoted entirely to painting. It was during the last decade that he continually has developed the theme of the landscape that is still the core of his work.
