About The Artwork
Living in the London area I often experience the city through the eyes of a painter. The broad dynamic spaces around London's tidal river have offered an exciting challenge to paint and capture something of the mood and scale. I tried here to use a particular time of day and atmospheric light, refining the tones and honing down the level of detail, to try and capture the majestic sweep of the Thames at Waterloo. I hope viewers will be drawn into a vista of London's endless possibilities as evening falls.
