About The Artwork
Emmett Till was an innocent child. He was the victim of the hatred and supremacy that is still marching in our streets. His mother had the wisdom and courage to expose the terrors her innocent child had to face. The work for our civil rights is still not done. We need to be reminded that people live in different realities. We have to realize that change can only come if we first change our own behavior. My subjects are iconic people / topics that have had an impact on me or our society. The painting is signed on the back and has my “e” symbol on the front. The painting continues around the sides, so it is ready to hang unframed.
