About The Artwork

The "Brzezina" series is a continuation of the Konterfekt graduation series, in which she also deals with the artistic creation of portraits of memory, i.e. portraits consistent with what I keep in my memories. In the "Brzezina" series, I focused on another problem - the correlation of memories with their symbolic "trigger". In the case of this oil painting, involuntary memories were triggered by a less obvious stimulus (environmental cues) - that is, a specific tree species. The name of the "Birch wood" series comes from the birch groves, the sight of which (initially for unknown reasons) evoked early memories of my sister and I.
