ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The painting "By the Campfire," created in 2024 by Mark Hellbusch, is part of his "Paintbox" series and measures 39.37 x 43.31 inches. It depicts a vibrant artist's palette, divided into two main sections. The upper section features a series of paint wells in shades of green, blue, dark blue, violet, brown, orange, yellow, and yellow-white, complemented by various red tones, orange, yellow-green, and yellow-white, reflecting the warmth of a campfire. The lower section is an abstract mix of overlapping and blended colors, creating a lively, textured surface. This chaotic arrangement symbolizes the spontaneous and creative nature of the artistic process, much like the unpredictable flicker of a campfire. The painting captures the essence of Hellbusch's "Paintbox" series with its intense use of color and dynamic presentation, inviting viewers into the vibrant and creative world of the artist. It visually interprets the warmth and energy of a campfire, demonstrating how harmonious and expressive compositions can emerge from the apparent disorder of colors.

I'm Mark Hellbusch, an artist based in Wiesbaden. My studio, Atelier Hellbusch, is a creative space where I not only make art but also share my passion by offering painting courses for art enthusiasts. Over the years, I've developed various collections, each exploring different themes and techniques. Some of my notable series include: "Organic Grounds" (since 2018): This collection delves into organic structures and nature, portrayed in abstract forms and vibrant colors. "Marsfeld" (since 2010): In this series, I experiment with landscape concepts, often incorporating a surreal touch. "Splash!" (since 2018): Known for its dynamic and bold paint splashes, this series aims to convey energy and movement. "Der Farbkasten" (since 2008): A series of intense, abstract paintings celebrating the diversity of the color palette. "Am Ende Grün" (since 2023): Modern, abstract works exploring various shades of green and their psychological effects. Exhibitions and Feedback I regularly organize exhibitions at ARTLET, my showroom in downtown Wiesbaden. It has been heartening to receive positive feedback from both art critics and visitors. I strive to create art that resonates emotionally and philosophically, often through an intense use of color.
