Awards: 2nd place Painting of VUB bank,2013, Slovakia 2nd International Biennal of Drawing and Graphic Arts, Gyor 2013, Hungary Born in 1988 Marek Jarotta graduated from Academy of Fine Arts and Design at studio of painting Mgr.art. Klaudia Kosziba, ArtD in Bratislava. During studies he has learned to display movie scenes by using intensively saturated/rich colour as if transformed from television screen to canvas and so creating "˜picture inside picture'. Gradually he has mastered application of movie language by scanning and cutting from film into my work and this has inspired him to work with space as such without displaying figurativeness. Exhibit "˜Space is only a noise' represents author latest work, working with exterior of the architectural body, which is painted or printed like a photo and then mechanically grinded away and by continuing adding more layers or applying new components which are then grinded away again and this method of adding and grinding away is repeated almost endlessly. Similar as in palimpsesty, mixed game of identity and moves is constantly transcribed. From durable materials of the body of architecture becomes ephemeral, fleeting element in interface abstraction. In a similar manner he created so called "˜non-places', supermodernity products, anthropological places opposites, spaces without identity, relationship and historical ties, where the subject is lost in the crowd. These are linked with commercial or leisure activities and are used to speed up process of serving customers. As in airport's, rail and tube stations, highways, petrol stations, supermarkets, hotel chains, etc... A person entering the space of "žnon-place" is duty free from its usual determinants and experience feelings of becoming the object in the picture. Author creates the space without components paying attention to "˜non-place' as a vacuous impersonal place. Solitude that they were seeking has engulfed them. Time stayed still and noise is the only thing left.
