About The Artwork

oil 37 in x 46 in oil on 3 - D plexi glass The C - Note Series was started as a realistic portrait of a classical musician. In the process the portrait evolved in to a character study of the musician whose name is Carol. In many regards, I considered myself to be taking notes on her. My intent was to show how Carol's character was made up of layers. I understood the best approach to portraying her would be less than traditional. As I completed the 1st C Note painting I was completely amazed that I had reached my goal. The work completely captured Carol's spirit ad character and was certified by all who saw the 1st work and knew Carol. C Note I found a home very quickly. To date I have created over 67 C-Note paintings. The focus of my compositions at this stage center on natural & artifactual shadows, the allusion of depth, great spirit and making elements conflicting in color and form to harmoniously work together. The sizes of the C-Note Series has grown to 10 x 8 ft. as all but 6 works have found new homes across the globe! New work in the series remain in the studio in draft and study formats on paper as the intrigued for the work continues.
