About The Artwork

(signature on back) I use mixed media. They are the elements of fermentation as well as the reasons of my work. A strict sphere of activity also conditions the extent of the means by which I set myself. The media is mixed, unlimited by definition but needs to be brought up to date in a necessary here and now. A paradox? Yes and no… As “man is condemned to be free”, I propose a vision of a paradoxical freedom, engraved, scraped, scarified, torn off with the support of my work. It is about a game, built then taken apart, added, withdrawn, cracked, torn up, whose intrinsic stake is to survive and evolve in an environment in which nothing is ever promised. Sometimes the parts crack, become exhausted, to show a world increasingly more vast than is possible. Sometimes it’s the reverse, I must bind, muzzle the picture frames which seem to want to escape any attempt at definition. This work is fierce, with the etymological direction of an intimate and vital rapport with material. They are its wounds and deep scars that seduce the eye of the passer-by.
