ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is based on the Chalk Cliffs on Princeton Mountain in central Colorado. The cliffs face south and are illuminated by the afternoon sun. The rugged faces of the cliffs are vertical and they inspired me to create an abstracted composition of more-or-less rectangular forms. It is a style that I have used that has been well-liked by jurors and clients. The blue colors are made of Cobalt Blue (sky blue), French Ultramarine Blue (true blue), and Prussian Blue (deep or dark blue). All are transparent.
