About The Artwork
Oil painting on canvas, fire engulfing a log cabin beside a lake with trees behind, on a moonlit night. I was inspired to do this composition due to where I live, and felt it gave me some kind of release from the daily life living in a cabin. Slightly in the style of Monet, but with the idea of going nuts living in a cabin out in the wilderness.

I am a self taught artist and achieved 'o' level art at college in the Isle of Man, and was born in Zambia, Africa where my father worked on the copper belt, mining. I've just turned 60 and have enjoyed painting, mainly with oil paint on canvas, and some water colour and acrylic, but prefer to use oils as the colour you mix is the way it dries on the canvas. I enjoy the art of Monet, Turner, Picasso, Kandinsky, Van Gough and many other great artists, who inspire me to be creative in my own artwork.
