ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is from a series titled "Cameos." The figures are artist friends and acquaintances of mine. The figure is photographed first from many angles and is used to create the composition before painting it on linen. The profile becomes a cameo frame around the figure which is painted behind it, revealing a couple different angles of the person. Part of the linen background is also seen creating more depth to the painting.
