Swarming in the ink sky In Katja Uccusic-Indra’s works viruses, vulcans, skulls and feministic symbols swarm. Mickey Mouse and Keith Harings barking dog say good night to each other under the black ink sky. A passionate bite in well-formed fruits and vegetables ranging from purple eggplants and green apples to red melons. A small girl is sitting on a dorian column with a Roman Venus mirror in her hands. It is reminiscent of Pop Art, childish graffiti and modern caveman painting. Stop the war Since the beginning of the Russian invasion artists all over the world like Katja request Putin to leave Ukraine with his bombs and tanks. The dictator violates human rights daily. In Katja’s pictures you can see children attacked by arrows and Russian symbols. The war infects Europe like a plague. The white ears of Mickey Mouse stand for peace and prosperity so that children can have a future without violence, murder and death. “I have children on my own. I don’t want them to fight in World War III”, says Katja, “Peace has to be restored. I am addressing Wolodymyr Selenskyj to negotiate.” Another war is going on in Israel: It has to be stopped, too! Wars are for museums, not for people. We need a future like in Star Trek, not like Star Wars.
