This was the night I met him on the street in Santa Teresa, Rio, selling his handmade jewellery, shirt off, looking louche, handsome and vunerable all at the same time. . .! Interestingly, the painting just flowed from start to finish - and the visible brush marks and blues and yellows eminated the glow of the city lights and the warm air.
